The diamond pattern on the home kit gives it a slightly unpleasant orange hue – it might work better if the pattern extended to the sleeves. The white away kit is way too fussy with the triple pinstripe.
Combined with the training gear for Europe, I think this makes for quite a cohesive 3rd kit. Ajax insisted that at first, there were no three stripes at all, but were talked round by adidas. In the early days of the contract, there were kits with the 3 stripes removed for matches, and the replica shirts had the three stripes on. Its the same with Chelsea’s kits – the shorts and the socks have hardly changed.

I find the white away kit just a bit of a mess really. As Denis said, last season’s white kit was much better. Personally, I’m not a fan of the adidas trefoil. It was before my time, and thus I never felt any great attachment to it. In my view its a good, solid looking kit and it will be interesting to see if the new kit, sponsor and most importantly manager, will bring Liverpool some good fortune this season. River Plate got their three stripes unbroken, and their shirt is one of the best and most 80s Ive seen in ages. The new Liverpool kit is okay, but thats all. It just does not have the same impact and aura as kits in the past have had, and I think its the Liver bird thats the problem. The trouble with keeping the same kit manufacturer is the sameyness of the kits. Realistically the shorts and socks have not changed from Aug 2006 through to May 2012. Liverpool needs to return to the old liver bird badge and adidas needs to return to the trefoil (can’t see them not going back at all with the “retro” being such a big theme nowadays).
Liverpool 2010-11 Kits
If club’s persist with one-season kits (although Liverpool’s is two) notable differences have to be included. Good idea about the non-contrasting three stripes – I guess due to Liverpool’s high profile adidas don’t want to lose that element. Within the football section, the sports club directly manages only the youth system and the reserve team. The professional footballers are managed as a separate limited corporation, Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball-AG, which is a subsidiary of the parent club.
This kit is a constant reminder of the Bob Paisley era and it brings back some serious nostalgic memories whenever fans see it. Let’s not forget, Liverpool won the First Division wearing this one - players like Phil Thompson and David Johnson come to mind every time this shirt crops up. As the most successful football team in the country the Reds have had some heady times, and the Jürgen Klopp era has seen the Merseysiders return to football's top table once again.
